Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

It arrived, and I'm re attaching the case right now. The video is super helpful, thanks @PeterOz . It's very tricky, I'm currently struggling with getting #1 of these two cables back on. I got #2 back on with a light pressure on the top with a small metal tool, as in the video screenshot, but #1 is eluding me.

I'll report back once it's assembled and I've booted up.

I've assembled...and the problem persists. Now I'm truly confused - if I replaced the trackpad and the case it leans on, how can this problem still be there the exact same way it was with the old trackpad and old case?

Just to be clear - the tactile "click" seems to be there now. But it doesn't actually do anything when I click (See video: ).

So the "tap" click anywhere on the trackpad works, but the actual normal "push" click still doesn't. (Also they sent me the keyboard with Hebrew letters, not sure why, I'm actually based in Belgium and the original keyboard had a Dutch layout, but no big deal as they are almost the same).

So when you push no click or no action?
Was the cable that you had trouble with part of the touchpad
When I push the bottom-left there is a click sensation, but this is not registered on the laptop itself. So I'm just clicking this thing and nothing happens. I can't drag and drop, for example. The only type of "click" that works is the one where I lightly tap the touchpad anywhere, not on the bottom-left.

The cable came from the monitor, so I believe that was a monitor connector. It feels like this trackpad hasn't been inserted properly (still a bit too much play going up and down on that bottom-left, but less than before), but I followed the video religiously, so I don't know what is wrong.

To be honest it feels as though a screw should be tightened somewhere - but there are no more screws, so it can't be the case. Unless there's somehow an issue with the motherboard itself...because as I said, a new trackpad and a new case means that it can't be either of those.

I should note that one of the screws broke during disassembly one of these times, it's one of the main screws under the rubber "feet" of the laptop. Could this be the problem? It doesn't "hold" the case anymore as the plastic around it came off too, but I left it screwed into the motherboard underneath just in case. There are still 10 screws, and the other case screw, all holding the case together, so could this one screw be making all this difference?

Nah, this one was weird from the get-go. :)
There must be an issue elsewhere, not in the usual places, nor the parts already replaced.

This is the time you put your hands up and get a bluetooth mouse!

Lol, I've already got myself a good bluetooth mouse, it's just so useful to have the trackpad sometimes. I think the best would be opening the laptop again and having a real close look at what is not normal in the trackpad area.

If anyone sees anything visually wrong just at a glance, please be my guest because this is beyond me. I'm looking at the top left of this, that's where the problem with the trackpad is. It seems slotted in correctly though.

The only thing under the trackpad on the case is a plastic bar...I still don't actually understand how it works. This bar is the same, it's undamaged, it's really just hard plastic. Why the trackpad doesn't click beats me.

I've now attached the old trackpad again. While the laptop was still open, I reached underneath to see how the "click" sensation would be and it made a way better "magnetic" feeling tactile click.

Now I've closed everything up and booted up, the problem persists BUT with the old trackpad I can click an even click & drag (!!!) when I put my finger almost in the bottom middle (bottom left, where we normally would click, doesn't generate a response). I also note that the trackpad is slightly depressed on that bottom left corner (why beats me again, because the case has been replaced, all screws are correctly tightened, yadda yadda. It's a weird one).

Any thoughts based on this info?
