Hi. I'm assuming this is some kind of networking Q.
I have a new device (a hobby cnc machine) with an ethernet cable. My desktop (win11Pro) port is connected to my ISP router. The device is plugged into a spare port on the router.
The device has a specific IP address. The only way I have been able to connect with the device is by switching the Internet Protocol to the device IP (see pic).
This means I LOSE the internet. Its a massive pain to keep switching and my device needs internet access sometimes.
Can some one help me have my PC connected to the internet and my device simultaneously. That would help my day :)

So I had a troubleshooter window- But this seemed to do nothing when retrying. Toubleshooter1.png I have tried alternative IP addresses in the Alternative Configuration, but to no avail- heres the latest. IPV4 Properties Alternative 1.png
I do access the IP when i force it on the general IP page, so I'm assuming it works.
What next? Thx

I would try
192.168.251.1
255.255.255.0
192.168.0.1
If no luck
And we assume you cannot Change the ip of the cnc - have you tried? - If not sure supply make and model.
The other option is to change the modem/router to output the same ip range 192.168.251.xxx

I cannot test this at this time. But should work in theory
Go back to your network adapter
and take out the alternate address.
On the general tab input your ip address for the internet.
Fill all in including DNS
Then click on advanced and add the ip address 192.168.251.1 subnet 255.255.255.0
Save and exit.
Try ping.

Ok I can now confirm.
I Have setup
Computer A address I have 192.168.251.5
Normal Ip Address on Computer B
IPv4 = 192.168.0.1
Subnet = 255.255.255.0
Gateway = 192.168.0.1
Dns = 1.1.1.1
Alt Dns = 1.0.0.1

Then click on advanced and add the ip address
192.168.251.1
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 255.255.255.0

From 192.168.0.1
I can ping 192.168.251.5
